Same lips, Diff chicks. #winteredition

Is it just me or is buying lipstick really hard? Its like a boxa' chocolate.. Ya never know what chur gonna get. Literally. The color it could be in the tube could be totally different than what it is on your lips. AND EVEN THE CRAZIER THING-- a lot of lipsticks look different on different skin tones. One of my favoriteeeeee bloggers did a post a while back check them out here. And I WAS OBSESSED, so I thought why not put my own spin on it! But, how do you know if you should take the leap and buy the lipstick? Cause, theres a lot of different ways it could turn out. But, I am here to help you. I thought I would put together some of my favorite fall lipsticks and then you can see what exactly they look like on different skin types, hair colors, eye colors, the whole shebang.

Apparently, Russian Red wins! I loveeee the timeless look of a red lip. This lipstick is an amazing red especially because its blue based! Have you ever noticed when you wear red lips you feel like your teeth look yellow? With this lip that won't be the case! Thats because you're getting a warm based red, not a cool tone aka blue;)

I hope this helped you on your fall and winter lipstick search! Let me know what your favorite color was in the comments! What do you usually go for? A red lip? A purple? Nude? Talk to you soon!

Everyday Summer Makeup!

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii everyone!
Just as much as I hate doing my hair in this heat-- I hate caking on makeup.
It just gets way to sweaty and hot with tons of makeup on during the day. Most days I honestly usually just say F makeup. Because aint nobody want to have on a full face of makeup on at the pool, or just in general with this heat. I know you all are probably thinking, "You're from New York, it could be worse." But listen, it's hot for me. Especially because it's been hot AND rainy lately. Muggy is the best weather for  a perfect contour and extravagant smokey eye. The things I would rather do.... Some days though I do want to look somewhat done up and put together, so I put together an everyday makeup look! I hope you love it!

...

First, you always want to moisturize and use SPF. This is a must!

Then, I used Mac Face and Body.. This is perfect for Summer! It is sooooo thin, but can be built up to medium or full coverage for night. Buff this all over the skin. I wouldn't use a beauty blender with this foundation because its water based! My favorite thing about this foundation is you don't feel it. Ever.

For Bronzer, I stuck with a mousse, rather than a powder. I used Soleil Tan De Chanel. This really just gives you that bronze look without feeling like you have tons on your face.

After your done with all your liquids, set everything. This is a huge step for Summer unless your makeup is going to run down your face and you are going to look like the greasiest of all the balls.

For blush, I used Macs Melba and for highlight Soft & Gentle. I like Melba because it is so natural and the highlighter looks so natural! Put this right above your cheekbone and sweep above right where your arch of your brow is. AND BAM! You will look like a bronze, dewy goodess. Because who doesn't want that?!

To open your eyes a bit, take a nude eyeliner in your waterline and a white shimmery color right in your tear ducts. This will make you look wide awake even if you were out all night! Then, apply mascara to your top and bottom lashes.

To finish the look off, I used Mac Lipglass in Razzle Dazzler, first because who doesn't love a peach lip for Summer and second because cmon Razzle Dazzler. I think I would use it for the name even if it was brown. Its just so catchy!

And thats your finished makeup look! Perfect for Everyday and sooooooo beautiful!
Let me know what your favorite makeup for Summer is in the comments..
Sorry if these products were a little pricy-- BUT look out for a more budget friendly Summer Nightlook coming so soon!

If I was stuck on a desert island and could only bring one thing.........

A few months ago, I wandered into the Buffalo Mac counter and my whole entire life changed... Ok, I am exaggerating a little bit. But I swear just a little! I have been seeing this little gem on YouTube and many other girls blogs for a while now and I never believed that it was that great.. Like honestly, what was all the fuss about?!? So on that day, March the 3rd, 2014... Jk I don't know the exact date.... I realized that all the hype for Macs Fix + was true... It really was THAT amazing. And so worth the 20 something dollars! I can not imagine my life without it. I swear to the lord.

Per the Mac website:
An aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm the skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi. Adds radiance, finishes makeup. Spray it on. Skin drinks it up!

AND ITS $21! Cant beat that.

Fix + is literally the answer to all my makeup problems.. If I was stuck on a desert island and could only pick one product I would honestly pick this. You know when you buy eye shadows from the drugstore and they never look as amazing on your lid as they do in the package? They are never pigmented and always chalky looking. Spray Fix+ on your brush then dip into the powder and apply and BAM! Expensive looking eyeshadow that stays all day! Without the price tag.. Who woulda thunk.

All of the colors on the left are without Fix+ and the one following is with it. You can tell a huge difference!

Its also amazing for when you do all your foundation think you look amaze balls then set the powder so it will last all day for my oily girls and you look like a cake ball and it looks nowhere near natural. We have all been there. Even if you are just wearing a full coverage foundation it can look crazy cake. After you are finished, mist it on arms length away and its crazy the difference.

Other uses:
When you are all done with your makeup it is also great for setting all of your hard work to last ages!
When you need a pick me up on hot summer days just spritz this and your face will drink it right on up.
You know those really glittery shadows that the second you pick up it falls all over your face? If you spray this on your brush it picks up the glitter and acts like a bonding agent to your lid!
If your foundation is thick spray some of this onto a small bowl with your foundation and it will lighten it up.

NOW GO BUY IT! IT WILL SAVE WORLD HUNGER!

........but really go buy it, you won't be sorry ;)

Beauty Dictionary: Face Brushes!

Hi Ladies!! I am back with a new series called 'Beauty Dictionary'. I will be answering some of your beauty issues that you never knew the answers to! Today I am doing Face Brushes.. I get a lot of questions about which brush to use when and why. I thought maybe bringing all my favorite brushes in together and explaining them to you for example: when you use them, what part of the face, cream/powder, etc. etc. would be a lot easier to understand. Honestly, different brushes can change the look of any foundation. Brushes are essential in your beauty routine. There is no reason to use your fingers now a days or disposable sponges-- It is 2014 and brushes make your makeup look 100,921,098x better! With that said-- LETS TALK BRUSHES:)

From the top left to right to the bottom:

Real Techniques Powder Brush- This is my favorite for bronzing and to set my powder. You can find this at Ulta. I use this just for an overall bronzing not to be confused with contouring.. So when I just want some color I will sweep this in 3 and E motions on each side of my face where the sun would naturally hit..

Sonia Kashuk Double Ended Foundation Brush- I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS BRUSH! I have had it for like 3 years and I wouldn't know what to do without it. I use the foundation end for my fuller coverage foundations.. It is pretty dense and with a dense brush you are going to get a thicker application. I just think it makes my foundation awesome! You all know my obsession with my Beauty Blender-- if not you can read here-- one end is like a sponge material like my BB but you don't get this wet or anything like that.. I use this side to just blend out around my nose and eye area just so you can't see any strokes or anything from the brush. You can find this at target!

Mac 168 Large Angled Contour Brush-- I love this brush for contouring because with the angle shape I fee like it just fits right in the dip of your cheekbone. If you don't know how to contour check out my post. This will help a lot more with how this brush!

Sephora Pro Flawless Airbrush #56-- This is just a recent love of mine but I think it will be an essential for a long time in my kit. I use this for my foundation on a more everyday basis. It really provides a natural-airbrushed look to your foundation. I pat my foundation on my face then buff it out in circular motions with this brush and it looks faaaaaaaab;)

Real Techniques Stippling Brush-- I use this to blend out my contour and blush to make sure there is no hard lines! I also used to use this a lot for my foundation.. This is a very multipurpose brush! You can also use it to dab on your highlight right above your cheekbone-- Or to use a cream blush for a real flushed look. You can also get this at Ulta.

Sigma F25 Tapered Face Brush-- I use this for my powder blushes! I think its not a dense brush so it really makes my blush light and natural.

Sigma P86 Precision Tapered-- I love this for my concealer.. What I do is with my ring finger is tap the concealer where need be and buff it out with this brush. With the tapered head it really gets into all of the hard to get areas you couldn't get with a regular foundation brush. Its dense so it adds a lot more coverage-- which I need if I am using a concealer.

Nars Ita-- TELL ME THIS DOESNT JUST FASCINATE YOU! Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I am in love. I use this for nights out when I want a strong contour. Its not that dense but it really makes that sharp, clean line you are looking for when contouring. I first apply the bronzer with Ita upright to make a sharp line then take the brush sideways to buff it all out. Its amazing. Just believe me when I say this. You can also use this for highlighting as well!

Elf Kabuki Face Brush-- This kabuki brush has been my favorite for a long long long long time. It has withheld every punch and throw its gotten. It will never die I swear to you. I use this for bronzing and to set my powder.. Also to bronze my body! For a meer $5 YOU NEED THIS!

So lets recap-- A dense brush gives more coverage, a less dense brush is for a lighter coverage! I hope this helped a bit! Let me know in the comments or on social medias which brushes you like the most! :)
