My Guide to DIRTY locks

Ok, so I'm sure you guessed it the guide to dirty (clean looking) hair is DRY SHAMPOO! I'm sooooo lazy in the mornings so this is an absolute plus for me!! It not only lets me have some more beauty sleep but its actually good for your hair to skip between washes. By washing your hair everyday, your are making your hair produce more oils from the shampoo because you are getting rid of the natural oils from your scalp. Makes sense if you think about it... A few years ago I would never and let me repeat NEVER go into public with my hair not washed and if I did, it was on top of my head in a bun.... I was the first to tell you: "I could never rock second day hair my hair is way to greasy for that" I've heard that from almost every client I've ever had. My response now is always-- "Why yes, yes you can." So heres how I did it and I hope it works for you also!

First things first, invest in a headband.. I'm sorry but training your hair does not work over night. You might have to sport some greasier looking locks than you would like for a bit. But, it will all be worth it. Start washing hair every other day... You will start to see a difference and when you can go every two days push your self that extra mile and try another... I wash mine every Sunday and Thursday.. While from Sunday to Thursday is tough theres tons of cute hairstyles you can do to disguise your greasy locks on the fourth day... This is a great video for it!  3 Hairstyles for 2nd/ 3rd Day Hair The top knot is my faveeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Between washes though... Use Dry Shampoo!!! I section out my dirty hair and use Lushs No Drought!! I apply it in each section then let it be for a while... Do my makeup, watch tv, do the dishes..... Just kidding, I don't do the dishes..... LOL! But, after you're done doing your business start rubbing in the powder just like you would do with shampoo until there is no white look left!! Then VOILA! Brush your hair and you're good to go!! Clean as can be hair! Almost cleaner than my dishes ;)

Be a Bronzed Bombshell.. FAST!

Hi Ladies!!!!! As most of my friends and family know, I have been trying to finally figure out the mystery secret to self tanning since middle school... I never understood why everytime I would come out streaky, looking like a pumpkin and when the tan would rub off I looked like a cheetah. Awesome, I was a streaky, pumpkin lookin' cheetah... Who in gods green earth would want to look like that?!?!? Not me... So it took me a few years but I finally mastered it! If you're having the same issues as I was keep on scrollin.

So first things first shower and exfoliate with a loofa to remove all the dead skin! THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP!!! If you don't do this the tan with attract to the dry spots on your body and be uneven! I use Lush Sea Salt.. It makes me feel like I just got back from the ocean, no joke! But, my skin is so soft afterwards!!

Afterwards, I use a light lotion doesn't matter what kind but do not use like coco butter... Just a lightweight lotion you would use daily.. Put that on your elbows, collar bone, knees, feet and I put them  on my nails and my knuckles and in between the fingers. This acts like a barrier cream and won't take to much to the tanner. I use the Mystic Tan Base Hydrator but like I said any lotion will do.

So now it's time to tan!
I use a mitt to apply... If I am using the Flawless Spray I will spray onto my body then rub it in in circular motions.. The same idea with St. Tropez but its a mousse so I pump the moose onto the mitt then  apply.. I go easy on my dry spots but I do about two-three coats on my whole body for a darker look. One coat would just be a tint of color which is nice also! Honestly, the applying isn't complicated its the before and after instructions.

For my face I use a flat top makeup brush-- like this one and with the MOUSSE ONLY apply it onto the brush and starting in the outer edges of my face working in towards the middle in circular motions.. I like to stay away from above my lip and between my eyebrows! I do my neck with the brush also I don't know why! It could be personal preference but, I like it better that way. I will do this before bed, then shower it off in the morning.

Usually my tan will stay for about a week and everyday I reapply it on my face at night and shower it off in the morning and use the Jergens lotion to keep up with the tan everyday at night and in the morning use a thicker lotion, like a body butter! That way your body stays hydrated and your tan doesnt look flaky! I hope my ideas were helpful.... Let me know how it works for you :) XOXO

St Tropez Mousse- Sephora for $42.00
Fake Bake Flawless- Ulta for $25.00

Fall Beauty Favorites

Fall is my favorite time for makeup. You can sport a dark ruby lip with a nice winged eyeliner and it just fits with your chunky cardigan. I have five favorites that range from cheap to alittle pricy. But all in all totally worth the splurge... But who doesn't love a good bargain?

1. Essie in Smokin Hot- Ulta for $8.00
2. Stila in Kitten- Sephora for $18.00
3. Rimmel London in Berry- Amazon for $4.99
4. Naked Basics- Sephora for $27.00
5. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stain in Smitten- Walgreens for $6.99

BLUE HAIR?!

From Lady Gaga to Nicki Minaj pastel, crazy colored hair is NO secret.... But now, everyones doing it. Either being a seafoam to cobalt blue these girls are rockin' it and I'm lovin every minute of it. But, in my opinion noone can beat Katy Perry. For dark locks its an awesome idea just because the blue flows naturally into the brown/black hair.

Can she be anymore perfect? Blue isn't only a flamboyant option anymore.
It can be pretty and girly,
OR in Demis way rocker-chic

TAKE A PLUNGE!
What do you think would you do it???
Make an appointment with me and we could turn your boring brown locks into BLUE!
Leave your comments below to tell me what you think. Is blue HOT? or NOT!

Greenday, Its time to wakeup.. Septembers Over

Was it just me or did September go by so fast? I'm not complaining or anything but, how crazy. With September ending here comes one of my favorite months: October. Now that we are finally getting past the random 80 degree days (Pssst: Upstate NY can be a little bipolar) October means: FALL CLOTHES! Lately, all I have been doing is searching for cute oversized sweaters, scarfs, slouchy hats... My favorrriiiiteeeeee.... Ive found some gems so I thought I would share some with you:

I am loving this dress from TOBI. With some black tights and black booties, It's fall approved! AND its only $36... What beats that?

The next one is just a basic tee from Urban Outfitters.. I just love the pale pink color but it also comes in 5 other colors. But with a cute cardigan this is a staple for every girls wardrobe.

Leather leggings IM OBSESSED WITH! You can dress them up, dress them down, but still be so comfy like you're  in PJ's. These ones are again from Urban Outfitters for $29!

The last clothing item I am about lately are...... You guessed it: Cardigans. Especially huge, oversized, comfy, sweaters. This ones from TOBI and on sale for $29 as well!

My last favorite is hair accessories! Im loving the dainty hair necklaces, to the flower headbands to the big turban styles to all in between!!! I've seen ones I loveeee at Forever21, Necessary Clothing and Urban Outfitters!

What is Color Melting?

I can not explain to you my love for Color Melting. It has been around all celebrities for the last few years and its not looking like its going anywhere anytime soon! (Cross our fingers!!) Color melting is a perfect solution for moms on the go or broke college kids and everywhere in between! Its just plain easy, barely any maintenance and still looks perfect 3 months after you go to the salon.... Who doesn't love that?!? Color melting is a technique that is used to blend different colors together to create a 'sunkissed--- I just went outside for a few hours and naturally my hair lightened and gave me perfect highlights' look. Its great for adding a POP to any bland or boring hair color. You can make the melting subtle for my easy going girls or dramatic for my fashionistas out there!

BUT lets not get Ombre and Color Melting mixed up.... Ombre is a solid color at your ends. Color Melting has the root color also diffused in your ends. On the left is an Ombre-- Right is Color Melting.

NOW RUN TO YOUR NEAREST HAIR DRESSER!!
XOXO -Em
