Chilliiii Summa Days

Hat | Crop Top: Sold Out / similar | Shorts | Cardigan | Shoes

This is my go to outfit for chilly summer days! I am from upstate NY if you didnt know and August is feeling alot like Fall most of the time. But, it can get up to the 90's in a hot second. Something like this is ideal! A cardigan with holes makes it super light weight and you can always ditch it when it gets alittle hot. I am also in LOVE with this hat. Its out of my comfort zone but I have been lovin' it. Definitely bringing that style into Fall. My shorts from Glamour and Glow are my favoooooorite. I would wear them every single day if I wasnt lazy and did laundry on a normal basis. They go with everything and they are riiiiiiil comfy. They are also on sale right now (lucky for you all) and I am really upset about it. I might restock on another pair! They are $25!

Whats your favorite part of this outfit? Do you like to wear hats?

Flowers in Emilys Hair

Ok, I know I said my last post was my favorite but, I think I changed my mind. This just makes me so happy. The dress is my FAVORITE style right now. Dresses, shirts anything off the shoulder are just so beautiful to me. ALSO-- the flowers in my hair was such a great touch by my photographer Nelli. I loved it. She literally just grabbed weeds took the clip out of her hair and voila. It was amazing. Literally "Flowers in Emilys Hair" This makes me smile. Also, these sandals have been my go to! They were also only $12!

Whats been your favorite go to style this summer? Can you believe its almost over? AHH!

B&W Everythan'

Romper | Rings | Earrings | Sunglassses | Boots- sold out but similar

Hi everyone! Lately, I have been pretty boring with my style but I have been loving it! I've been into very minimal, black, grey and white outfits. I just think its so classy. You can buy so many different pieces and they'll never go "out of style". They are just simple. This has been my favorite romper and its from Charlotte Russe! Also, these sunnies have been my GO TO-- I have gotten so many compliments on them it isn't even funny. They remind me of Ray Bans but guess what.... They are only $12! What a steallll $$$$$. I got them from Glamour & Glow! I can't find my rings online but they are from Brandy Melville. I have been loving wearing simple jewelry but layering tonnnnnzzzz of them. Can you tell my style has been changing big time?

I also started working with a new photographer so tell me what you think! Her name is Nellie and she is amazinggggggg. Check all her work out here. We have a lot of new things coming out for you so keep your eyes peeled 0_o eek!

2015 GRAMMYS RECAP

THE GRRAAAAMMMMYYYYYS. The long awaited Grammys. This is the only awards show I am actually ever about. I feel like its the one time for the celebs to actually be a little on the wild side and be themselves. Please tell me you haven't forgotten about Lady Gagas meat dress? She's nuts, I think. Or what about Kanye interrupting Taylor Swift? Im sure you didn't forget that one! The Grammys makes everyyyyyone talk, every. single. year. First, can we plssss talk about Kanye West getting up and interrupting Beck. I hate him so much. LOL. Sorry Kanye fans. I love Beyonce more than life but, reeeeally. GO AWAY. I loved Katy Perrys performance. Her white cape dress was STUNNING.

Enough of my rambles-- on to fashion, hehe.
I have to start out with the girl I love to hate, T-Swift. As much as I try, I CAN NOT HATE HER. She was my best dressed for the entire night. Her dress was breathtaking with those shoes and her hair and makeup ughhhh. She was perfection.

Get the Look: Olivia Palermo's Style

GUESS WHOS BACK WITH A NEW GET THE LOOK SERIES?!??
ME AND KYLA! EEEEEK and guess what? We have added a third bllogga, Victoria! Wooooohooo three times the fun!
Meet Victoria. Victoria has a blog over at Glossy and Glitzy all about fashion ! She's from NYC and all of her posts literally make me feel like I'm watching Gossip Girl. Not kidding. So if you love Blair Waldorf with a hint of Serena Vanderwoodsen, Victoria is your cup of tea. Today, us three decided to team up and recreate Olivia Palermos signature look! I went with her brown smokey eye over on Ky Marie C, Kyla did her curls on Glossy and Glitzy and I am having Victoria on my blog recreating her style! Go check out all of our posts to find how how to look just like The City star. SO, lets not waste any time. Heres Victoria!

This is my take on the Olivia Palermo look above. I went with a black jacket and faux fur stole instead of the check shirt. Without the poncho I still have a nice look and I'll have to admit I do have a weakness for cozy furry accessories. Olivia is a fan of fur as seen here and here and I wanted to add it to my look as well. I think it gives the outfit a touch of glam. I've been dying to create this look for a while and I was able to get a few shots of it last week. It's been a bit chilly lately (Juno2015 whoa?) and I was waiting for warmer weather to style this outfit for the day. Shorts are not exactly winter staples but I am actually wearing thin nude tights underneath. All of these pieces came from what I've collected in my closet. Some things are new, and some things old - I'd say it's a pretty comparable look for $1000s less. Sometimes a Get the Look might not be exact, but I like adding my own style. You should too and see what you come up with...you might be surprised what you find in your closet.

I'm hoping to create more looks for less posts for G&G. It's always fun to style an outfit inspired by another.  This helps me brainstorm and think of how I can wear things I already own - differently.  Olivia Palermo, Lauren Conrad, and Miranda Kerr are a few ladies that I admire when it comes to style and taste. Polished, chic, feminine, and classic are how I would describe Olivia Palermo's closet...oh and fabulous. Let's throw that one in there as well. Olivia definitely appreciates the finer things in life along with a sophisticated sense of style.

These are SO cool! I also bought the pearl earrings linked. Take a look at your local Macy's store for the black ones above. Check out my other earring picks HERE. There is also this set of three from Bauble Bar HERE.

Hope you enjoyed my first Get the Look post! If anyone has any looks they want to see shoot me an email at glossyandglitzy@gmail.com and I'll see what I can come up with. I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

xo,

Victoria

How To: Spice Up a Plain Outfit

If you know anything about me, you would know I love plain outfits. When I mean plain, I don't mean plain. I just like to buy simple, timeless pieces that I can switch out a cardigan, leather jacket, shoes, and make a total different outfit. That way the Regina George of your life can't tell you you wore that outfit already;)

So, what I did is I took 3 staple pieces in my wardrobe. A white t, boyfriend jeans and ankle boots. You can switch out the color of any of these pieces as well to switch up the look! From a grey shirt, to black, to dark denim, to light, to black boots, to tan etc. etc.

How To: Spice Up a Plain T
Before we get into this I'm going to tell you my life long secret.
You cannot tell a soul.
Well ok, I suppose you can, the only white v necks I will buy (other than Victorias Secret if I want a deeper V) is Hanes mens shirts. Literally, since maybe 9th grade. If I could count how many time someone complimented them either, I would be one rich gal. They are just so comfy and not a deep v at all so you don't feel exposed all day. Just the best. What I do is get a size smaller than I usually would and its perfect. Its a tiny big but thats how I like my ts. Roll up your sleeves a tiny bit and you are gooooooood to go. Best part is you can get like 5 in a pack for $35. If thats not a good deal, I dont know what is.
My first way to spice up your plain jane outfit is putting a cardigan over it! I really like this grey one from TopShop. An over sized cardi is so cute and adds to any outfit but other than that, its warm. In Upstate NY, you better bet your bottom dollar, you have a sweater. Especially where I work-- Dr. Surosky, turn on the heat PLEASE!

Another quick idea is adding a leather jacket. Leather jackets complete so many looks. I love them. Anytime I wear a leather jacket, I feel like a BOSS. This one from Nordstrom would be perfect because its more structured. This will make your T look more put together, like you spent allllll day workin' on your cute outfit when you woke up 45 minutes late. #mylife
Last but not least, to bring this outfit from day to night is switch out the boots and put on a blazer with heels! This would be the perfect going out look! This blazer from ASOS would be soooo legit with these heels from Target! You prob can't tell or anything but I am all about the monochromatic colors! I think its just timeless. But, if you wanted to add some color, you could always add a purse, or change out the heels or jacket for a blush color!

I hope this helped everyone spice up their plain outfits! Whats your favorite way to spice up a t? Can you believe I wear mens shirts?!?!? Talk to you all sooooooooooon :)

Casual Thanksgivin' Outfit Ideas!

As you probably saw in my last post I am obsessed with Thanksgiving. I did a more classy outfit the other day which was GO FIGURE monochromatic. But, I thought I would give you a more relaxed just around the fam, colorful (to me) look as well! This was actually a lot harder than it looks.... I think I need black and white rehab. Or someone to inject a rainbow into my veins... Because, literally it takes so much out of me to not pick out a nice black top. #emoemily

casual, thanksgiving, outfit, idea, ootd, topshop, h&m, scarves, boots, cardigans, fall, winter, cozy,

I think this outfit is soooo comfy and perfect for Thanksgiving. I don't know about your family but my family is so relaxed so this is the kind of outfit I would wear. Its cozy but you still look put together and stylish. I LOVE THAT CARDIGAN.. I know its $80 but listen the top is $13 and the pants are on sale for $9.99... I think that makes up for it right? Lets say the pants were $40 and the top was $23 and then the cardigan was only $40.. I bet you would buy it seeeeeeee. It all equals out at the end of the day. AND Top Shop items literally last a leap year. Im really good at selling things maybe I should be a saleswomen;) AND THAT WATCH. I have never heard of Olivia Burton watches but I have been researching for a while now and am obsessed. She makes the cutest daintiest watches ever. Screw a Michael Kors (Sorry guys) This is more my style! Its so timeless. Haha. See what I did there. Even put on a huge scarf either this one or this one and you are set to go.

I hope you guys have been loving my random outfit posts! Have you picked out your outfit yet? Id love to know what you decide on! Let me know in the comments! AND I HOPE YOU HAVE AN AMAZING THANKSGIVING! Everytime you eat some pumpkin pie or mashed potatoes, think of your girl;)

Fall Lazy Day Inspo- All black er thang

Oh November.
Can we just pause for a second to talk about where September and October went? The heck?!
But, I'm so happy to see you. Although, I hate you too. I'm sorry. I can't help it.
Come Winter and colder weather comes Dead Emily. Literally dead. Atleast to the world that is. It started off with just laryngitis, but, now I've been sick in bed not moving for at least 4 days now. So whilst not doing anything but sitting in bed, comes Pinterest and browsing every clothes website that ever existed.

lazyday
sunglasses: here boots: here necklace: here black t: here flannel: here pants: here or here

Please tell me I'm not the only one who loves an all black outfit? I know its not everyones cup of tea but, something about it is just so boss. Like excuse me, Im wearing all black don't mess with me. Since I'm sick and all I wanted to put together an outfit you can just throw on while running errands, or go shopping, or going to lunch with friends. I think this is so effortless but I'm obsessed with leather pants as you know for fall, I have been ADDICTED to oversized flannels, and even more obsessed with over the knee boots. Would you rock this outfit?!

Let me know in the comments belowwwwww.
I just discovered Polyvore and am in love, so go follow me to see more outfits like this one!
